I have been in the safety field for what seems like my entire life. Growing up in a small farming town in the Midwest, where injuries or death affected the whole community, I was aware at a young age the dangers faced in the working world.

After completing high school I served in the United States Army for four (4) years, United States Army Reserves for eight (8) years, and in 1992 moved into the Occupational Medicine and Health and Safety field. Throughout my formative years and career, I have witnessed how safety – no matter where you are, at home, school, or work, is one of the most important elements of insuring a healthy life, not just for yourself but all who come into contact with you. I believe safety impacts the individual, the family, and the community. By providing access to valuable information and sharing the knowledge and insight acquired through our own experiences and training, Access Compliance and its affiliates can be an effective tool in helping prevent accidents, injuries, and unsafe situations/environments.

My life and work experiences offer a customer more than 18 years of hands-on knowledge of occupational safety and health programs, including 16 years of managerial experience in leadership, communication, organization, analyzing and problem solving skills. As such, Access Compliance and its affiliates are able to identify various occupational health, medicine and safety needs within a variety of industry settings.

I enjoy the challenge of designing and presenting programs tailored to fit individual company needs, and look forward to working with new and existing clients to advance a culture of safety in their respective organizations.

Tommie Gresham, Safety & Health Manager

Tommie Gresham is a Safety Manager at Access Compliance. He is a 38-year member of Local 100 Pipefitters Union in Dallas, TX. He has worked at oil refineries & chemical plants, including the Chevron Oil Refinery, San Francisco, CA, which is the biggest refinery in the US. He has worked at the Hess Oil Refinery in St. Croix, Virgin Islands, which supplied all oil & gas for the US Armed Forces; the Exxon Oil Refinery, Baytown, Texas, which is the second largest refinery in the US.

His oil refinery and chemical plant experience includes: Suncor & Syncrude Oil Refineries, Fort McMurray Alberta, Canada, SI Group Chemical Plant, Rotterdam Junction, NY, DOW Chemical in Freeport, Texas, and BASF Chemical Texas City, TX. Tommie has also worked at Semi-Conductor Plants such as Texas Instructions, Dallas & Sherman, Dennison, TX; Ball Semi Conductor, Plano, TX; Dallas Semi-Conductor, Dallas, TX; Regeneron Systems, Dallas, TX; Mostech Semi-Conductor, Carrolton, TX; Intel Semi Conductor in Boston, MA & Phoeniz, AZ; and Samsung Semi-Conductor in Austin, TX – to name a few.

Tommie also brings chemical plant experience, working with Hewlett-Packard, Global Foundries, and in pharmaceuticals manufacturing plant experience for Bristol Myers Scrib, Bio-Tech in Water, MA, Regeneron in Albany, NY and Forest Labs in Long Island, NY.

Additional experience includes: OSHAA 500 Certified Trainer – 10 and 30 hour classes OSHA 1926 Certified Trainer General Industry Training Confined Space Certification Certified Adult CPR/AED and Standard First Aid Certified TIG, ARC, IR welder and inspector. Assist clients in achieving VPP status Workplace safety audits, employee exposure evaluations, safety supervision on client projects. OSHA 40 hours Hazwoper trained, able to work in Level B PPE Cross-trained in medical, drug and breath alcohol testing, blood draws, fit testing, and other occupational medicine services.

When not spending time working in the safety management field, in his “spare” time Tommie has enjoyed motorcycling racing, having raced for over 35 years, and passing the love of racing on to his son and grandson Speedy, who also race Motocross. Tommie has twice been the Texas Over 40 State Champion in Motocross Racing, and was the 1988 Texas State Trials Champion in motorcycling racing. He is an avid trap shooter, having won many events across Texas & Oklahoma, and it must run in the genes as his grandmother was the women’s Oklahoma State Champion 9 years in a row.

John Reinemann, CIH, Principal Industrial Hygienist

As the Principal Industrial Hygienist at Access Compliance, Reinemann is proficient in the recognition, evaluation and control of occupational and environmental hazards.

Grace Irby, Website Administrator and Media Specialist

Grace Irby has worked with Access Compliance since 2010. She also has worked for Access Health Systems in the Latham office as a medical assistant. After her husband got out of the Navy and they relocated to Arizona, she has continued on as the website administrator and media specialist for Access Compliance. Grace brings the most recent updates, events, training and photos to our audience.

When not working on the Access Compliance site, Grace is busy in her community teaching Sunday School, helping out as the Facebook administrator for her church updates and events, and supporting the local Arizona Cattle Dog Rescue organization. She keeps busy with the recent adoption of a second “fur baby”, and enjoys gardening, spending time outdoors, and living a health, active lifestyle.

Kevin O’Brien, Safety Manager

Kevin O’Brien, Safety Manager, is responsible for managing employee health and safety. Kevin holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree (Business Administration) from the University of New York at New Paltz. He has 9 years of operational experience in the area of Occupational Health and Safety.

Kevin sits on the Executive Board for the Voluntary Protection Program Participants Association (VPPPA Region 2) as Treasurer and is an active member of the Construction Committee for VPPPA National. Kevin is also a Special Government Employee (SGE) for the VPP Program.

Kevin is an OSHA Outreach Trainer for General Industry (10 hour and 30 hour), and is Lead Renovator (RRP) certified. He is also a NIOSH Certified Spirometry Technician, 3M Fall Protection Competent Person Trainer, Certified Breath Alcohol & Drug Collection Trainer, and (CAOHC) certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist (OHC). Kevin has taken the 10-Hour Occupational Safety and Health Training Course in Construction, and is trained in Heart Saver First Aid /CPR /AED. Kevin works with in-house Certified Industrial Hygienists, Certified Safety Professionals, and Occupational Medicine Doctors to develop training material tailored to the unique needs of our clients.
