"Fire Prevention Week™ is observed each year during the week of October 9th in commemoration of the 1871 Great Chicago Fire. This year’s October 5-11, 2025 campaign, “Charge into Fire Safety™: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home,” works to educate everyone about using these batteries safely. The campaign stresses how important it is to BUY, CHARGE, and RECYCLE safely when it comes to lithium-ion batteries. The NFPA has free online resources you can use to promote the event at your site (link provided below)."
