Injury Prevention Day

It is Injury Prevention Day. Young workers have high rates of job-related injury. In 2022, the rate of emergency department treated work injuries, for 15–24-year-olds, was almost twice the rate of injuries as workers in older age groups. Limited or lack of prior work experience and a lack of safety training contribute to high injury rates. Employers need to inform young workers of potential or known workplace hazards.
