"This is a FREE workshop, scheduled for August 17. The workshop will take place at the Desmond Hotel & Conference Center in Albany, NY. In light of the recent spikes in COVID-19 cases, this will be a hybrid event – providing the option for attendees to participate in person or virtually.
In 2019, New York State passed the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA) – one of the most aggressive environmental initiatives in the country. A significant goal of the Act is to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by at least 85% by 2050. As one of the largest contributors to GHG emissions, the transportation sector will see policy initiatives and incentive programs structured to accelerate a shift to zero emission vehicles.
While the Trucking Association of New York continues to encourage the state to take a sensible, market-driven approach to shifting fleets to green transportation, we know state leaders are focused on implementing policies that will accelerate the shift to electric vehicles. This will be accomplished both through incentive programs and mandates.
Clean Transportation Initiatives: The Future is Now is a one-day workshop designed to provide trucking industry representatives with the information they need to know today to plan for the future of tomorrow. The workshop will cover policy recommendations currently being considered to achieve the New York State’s GHG emission reduction goal, utility preparedness and infrastructure build out, alternative fuels, incentive and financing programs and more.
Be assured that TANY is taking every precaution to ensure the safety of attendees and will follow recommendations and guidelines issued by the CDC, the state and the hotel.
