"FYSA - The NYC Health Department is currently investigating a community cluster of 73 cases of Legionnaires' disease, including three deaths, in Central Harlem (ZIP codes 10027, 10030, 10035, 10037, and 10039). NYC DOH link provided below with more information.

There has been a rising incidence in Legionnaires' disease cases over the last two decades. All owners of cooling towers in New York State are required to register their cooling towers, sample for Legionella, and maintain their records in the online cooling tower registry. The New York State Department of Health has published a document available online to help building owners comply with state regulations for cooling towers:  https://www.health.ny.gov/publications/6635.pdf

The New Jersey Department of Health has published Legionellosis information online, including a water management program template:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has published a document titled Developing a Water Management Program to Reduce Legionella Growth & Spread in Buildings that provides a toolkit for implementing industry standards:  https://www.cdc.gov/investigate-legionella/?CDC_AAref_Val=https://www.cdc.gov/legionella/downloads/toolkit.pdf

US DOL OSHA has a webpage with more information about the disease:  https://www.osha.gov/SLTC/legionnairesdisease/index.html ..."
