"FIRST FEDERAL EQUIPMENT BAN IN OVER TWO DECADES

NHTSA is banning defective Chinese air bag inflators that have killed at least 10 people and caused serious injuries to 2 others in a dozen crashes.

An investigation revealed that these inflators explode, sending large metal fragments into drivers' chests, necks, eyes and faces.

Vehicle owners: If you have purchased a used vehicle since 2020, it's urgent that you consult the vehicle history for past air bag deployments."
