OSHA Guide to Protect Workers, Building Occupants from Coronavirus
"Preventive measures for protecting workers from exposure to the newly discovered Coronavirus (MERS-CoV) depend on the type of work performed and knowledge of exposure risk, including potential for contamination of the work environment.
MERS-CoV is a coronavirus and highly susceptible to inactivation by many commonly used disinfectants. Currently, OSHA recommends following SARS disinfection practices for environmental areas contaminated with MERS-CoV.
Adaptation of infection control strategies based on a thorough hazard assessment is necessary for implementing infection prevention and control measures, including engineering and administrative controls, safe work practices, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
OSHA has developed the following interim guidance to help prevent worker exposure to MERS-CoV and persons with the disease..."
