Donations & Assistance for Bronx Fire Victims
"In light of the recent tragedy at The Twin Parks Northwest Apartment Building in the West Bronx, TANY has been in contact with local elected officials such as the Office of Councilmember Oswald Feliz & Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson. Donations can be made online to either the Red Cross Support After Bronx Fire | Press Release | Red Cross, the Mayor's Fund Mayor's Fund, or The Gambian Youth Organization's Fundraiser by Salim Drammeh: Relief for Families Affected by Bronx Fire.
There is an urgent need for both financial contributions as well as gift cards (Visa Preferred/Amazon, Target), Feminine Care Products, Pampers (Size 5), Warm New & Unused Clothing, Phone Chargers, Socks, Undergarments, etc. However, as most of these demands and donations are currently being met and accounted for there is also a huge need for transportation/logistics of these supplies to the people who need it most. If any member in the Metro Region can volunteer or assist with a vehicle (so I can assist) it will be greatly appreciated.
In addition to that, donations can be made in person to the following locations:
The Office of Councilmember Oswald Feliz 573 East Fordham Road (Entrance on Hoffman Street) Bronx, NY 10458 / phone (718)-842-8100 or
The Red Cross / Office of Emergency Management Site @ Monroe College (Ustin Hall, 2375 Jerome Ave, Bronx, NY 10468) or
The Gambian Youth Organization @ 214 E. 181st Street Bronx, NY 10457
Please keep in mind that there will be an ongoing, long term and developing need as time goes by and these families receive the necessary assistance."
