NYSAFC Hands-On Training: The TIC

Hands-On Training will be back at the Long Island Metro Fire/EMS Expo! Join us for the Suffolk County Fire Academy Thermal Imaging Camera Class – “The TIC” – on Saturday, January 31 and Sunday, February 1. This course will provide students with a basic understanding of thermal imaging and the TIC’s usefulness as a fire service tool. Thermal imaging theory and camera tactics will be reviewed and demonstrated. The benefits of using a TIC on the fireground will be addressed, along with the detriments of over reliance. Following a lecture, students will be given the opportunity to use a TIC in a live fire environment to reinforce lessons learned. NYSAFC’s mobile training unit will be utilized outside of Nassau Coliseum for training. Note – this class is the same program delivered at the academy. It will be presented by academy and NYSAFC instructors. Registration is $175 per person (includes a ticket to the expo). Space is limited. PPE requirements apply.
