"October is Pedestrian Safety Month in New York, a reminder that everyone has a role in keeping people safe on our roadways. Pedestrians: Use crosswalks, obey signals and stay visible with light colors or reflective clothing. Drivers: Yield at intersections, slow down near schools or in city centers and always use caution when passing by a stopped vehicle – they may be letting someone cross that you don’t see."
